Check, then callNo fill
The control opened the water valve and the tub never reached the level it expected in the time allowed. The water is not arriving, or it is arriving too slowly to count.
- The small valve under the sink on the hot line that feeds the dishwasher is turned fully open; after plumbing work it is often left a half turn open.
- Hot water runs at the kitchen faucet with normal pressure — a dishwasher drinks from the hot line, and a closed valve at the water heater or a slow well pump starves it.
- The float at the front of the tub floor (a small plastic dome) lifts and drops freely; a bit of glass or a fork tine under it holds it up and the valve never opens.
- Reset and start Rinse Only; stand by the sink and listen for water in the first minute.
Open the valve, free the float, and the next cycle fills. Water at the valve, a free float and still no fill is the water inlet valve itself — a part at the front left behind the kick panel, and on a machine under warranty a warranty service call.
No fill with the supply open and the float free is the inlet valve — a service call. Leave the supply valve under the sink closed until it is replaced.
